Certified Organic. An heirloom varietal from Westport, MA, the Macomber turnip is little known (or found) outside of New England -- this is truly a local vegetable. Back in 1876, the Macomber brothers brought back rutabaga seeds and planted them next to their radish crops, hoping for the plants to cross-pollinate. A delicious new turnip resulted from their experiment. White in color like it's radish parent, the turnip has a slight horseradish flavor when raw - clean & crisp with a flavor unlike any other.
