Pears, Bosc

Easily recognized by it's long and slender neck, the Bosc pear's rough exterior hides sweet white, crisp, and firm flesh.  Perfect for roasting, baking or poaching since it holds its shape. Because they're firmer than other pears, the neck won't "give" as much when ripe, but it's still the best way to test for ripeness.
