Apples, McIntosh

Discovered in the early 19th century by a farmer (John McIntosh) in Ontario, "Mac's" have become one of the great North American apple varieties with numerous offspring.  But did you know that all it's production is centered in the New England and into Ontario & Quebec.  Simple and direct in flavor, Mac's are best right off the tree. They're crisp, sweet with refreshing acidity and a hint of wine (referred to as "vinous").  Enjoy baking, juicing and eating out of hand. Steere Orchard in Greenville, RI.
